Dinshaw Rusi Mehta requests chief election commissioner for voting details

Dear Commodore Aspi Marker,

At the outset let me congratulate you and your Election Commission team for a very well conducted Election! In spite of various diversionary Complaints and Countercomplaints, you and your team carried on with exemplary discipline and righteousness so that Justice was not only done but it was seen to be done as per law and the Scheme of Elections as well as the Code of Conduct.

As already discussed with you, Parsi Junction had published your Public Notice dated 3rd June 2022 in the Parsi Junction issue No. 136 of 5th June 2022 announcing the total Votes secured by each of the 15 candidates in the Elections for seven Trustees vacancy held at five centres on 29th May 2022 as per Directions of the Division Bench of the High Court.

Along with the said Public Notice, Parsi Junction had also published a detailed vote count secured by each candidate among the five voting centres which tallied with the final result. These centre wise voting figures were obtained from each centre through the candidates representatives present at each centre. However there seems to be some inadvertent error in the case of a few candidates who have complained to Parsi Junction that the total votes obtained by them does not tally with the centrewise details of each centre.

It is our fervent request that you should call upon the Auditors and the EVM suppliers who have charged the BPP a bomb to immediately release the votes obtained by each candidate at each voting center so that the community and the candidates are well informed for future campaigning i the elections. Elections were held on 29th May 2022 and it is surprising that even after almost 15 days this center wise figures are not tabulated and conveyed to the CEC by the Auditors.

Awaiting early receipt of the sought for details, and a well deserved Congratulations once again,

Yours faithfully,

Dinshaw Rusi Mehta
