Parsi directory now available as mobile app

MUMBAI: The Parsi Directory, a valuable resource for the Zoroastrian community, is now available as a free download mobile app.

Yazdi Tantra who devised the initiative said, “The app is free and aimed at connecting Parsis across the world. The Parsi Directory project was started about 10 years ago and we have been able to collect 79,000 registrations online. In order to reach out to the global and non-computer enabled audience, we have launched an Android App that is available on Google Play Store.”

Since its launch a few months ago, the app has been downloaded 3,000 times. Around 50,000 searches have yielded 10,00,000 results.

Tantra says, “Thousands of Zoroastrians have connected with family and friends using this medium.
Many non-Zoroastrians have discovered long lost Zoroastrian relatives and friends by requesting information. Business and commerce has been generated online. The app helps users find tour operators, caterers, accountants, lawyers and film makers among other businesses.

The ParsiInstitutions.com incorporates hundreds of agiaries, associations, baugs for weddings and navjotes, dharamshalas and sanatoriums around the world.”

Users can subscribe to Daily Roj, Salgarehs, Uthamna and Z-News from all over the world.
