BPP Elections

Clarification from Joh Bawa

We, at Joh Bawa, refer to misinformation published elsewhere yesterday titled: ‘Where is my voter ID???’

As Jam-e-Jamshed has previously rightly reported, we are a youth group who are only trying to assist the community where elders have to miserably failed and fallen prey to petty politics. We are in no way politically inclined towards any Trustee or group, nor are we on the payroll of any candidate.

The aforementioned article is factually incorrect. Over the last 45 days we have collected a large number of forms, which have all been submitted to the BPP. We have been collecting the voter’s certificates piecemeal from the BPP and delivering the same to voters within 4-5 days after collection.

YOU WILL BE PLEASED TO KNOW, WE HAVE DELIVERED ALMOST 1000 FORMS TO VOTERS AS OF TODAY AND THERE ARE A SIMILAR NUMBER OF FORMS STILL WITH THE BPP OFFICE, WHICH ARE TO BE DELIVERED AND THE SAME WILL BE ATTEMPTED TO BE DONE IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER ITSELF.

We have no intention of holding onto any person’s certificate for that goes against the very grain of Adult Franchise. We, the youth, have taken on this elephantine challenge of delivering forms from Colaba to Kalyan, by bike and train and hence it pains us when we see such sorry and baseless accusations made against us on the front page of a certain publication.
