A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Dear Community Members,
For the forthcoming 1st July 2018 BPP Trustees election, we strongly recommend the candidature of Erv. Xerxes Vispi Dastur as the best by far among the five contesting candidates.
We have all in our individual and professional capacity interacted and dealt with Xerxes Dastur on many occasions over the years. Xerxes has been approachable and direct. He knows what can be achieved and what cannot and will have no qualms in letting you know of that. Xerxes is a professional who has accomplished commendable feats at a young age and we are extremely pleased to note that he has decided to contest the election as Trustee. Xerxes is very hard working, dedicated and his integrity is above board.
01_SUN_17-06-2018_MJ-0During the recent fire at Ripon Club, which we visit often, his dedication and hard work came to the forefront to ensure that the club came back to normalcy within a few days. Xerxes is a hands on worker and a Chartered Accountant with a wide knowledge of the functioning of Trusts, Corporates and financial issues. He is an Office bearer of World Zarthushti Chamber of Commerce (WZCC), India board as well as its Youth Wing.
In our humble view, the BPP is desperately lacking and genuinely in need of an independent thinking board of Trustees where each Trustee thinks for himself and not as a group, regardless of the outcome. Board decisions are tricky in nature and require different varying views to reach an optimal result benefiting the community. Xerxes is independent and cannot be swayed by any kind of allegiance or family tie.
As professionals in our independent fields, in our opinion having a husband – wife duo on the BPP Board would be poor corporate and social governance, especially for a community Trust of the importance and the scope of the BPP.
On pure personal and professional credentials – it is clear to us that Xerxes would make a competent independent Trustee with his professional background as a Chartered Accountant. Our support goes out to Xerxes Dastur and we urge members of the community to elect him as a trustee.
