Zubin Poonawalla
Zubin Poonawalla, a veteran of the Logistics & Supply Chain Industry is currently a Consultant to the Tata Group of Companies for re-engineering & optimising their Supply Chain in the various Group Companies besides cutting down their Logistics & Transportation cost. He was earlier President of Supply Chain vertical for Srignar Municipal Corporation, J&K.. Zubin brings with him 2 decades of rich & extensive experience in the Logistics, Transportation, Warehousing, Shipping, Multimodal Transport Operations, NVOCC, CFS, Freight Forwarding, Cold Chain & 4PL – Business Development & Operations Supply Chain Management domains. He is educated at some of the most prominent Educational Institutions across the spectrum, from the coveted IIM Bangalore. Zubin has been associated with some of the most coveted organizations across India in leadership positions such as greenLogiNXT, DIESL, AFL , ARAMEX, J.M. Baxi & Co, TNT & ACC Limited.
In his present role, Zubin’s responsibilities include leading India business & offering integrated SCM solutions to large MNC’s which are designed to the requirements of the customers across industrial sectors & supported with technology partners &implementation teams. Zubin is also accountable for delivering the budgeted revenues & profits from the business.
Since FY11, he has been providing thought leadership in SCM in India under the Michigan State University Collaboration – World’s #1 University for Supply Chain Research & Education. He represents MSU & its colleges in India for all strategy, academic & business development. It has partnered with various prestigious institutions such as Institute of Public Enterprise, Centre for Organization Development, SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Great Lakes Institute of Management to develop collaborative Research & Knowledge in this field.
He provides cutting edge solutions & analytics in SCM, Logistics & Project Management to various sectors – Oil & Gas, Infra, Ministry of Defence, Shipyards, MRO, FMCG, IT, 3PL, eCom, Pharma, Medical Devices & Electronics. He has also worked on a project with the Govt of J&K in converting solid waste into energy.
He has experience from various sectors & implementation strength in Supply Chain Excellence, Project Management, Lean & Agile Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Business & Operational excellence, ERP & Strategic Management. He collaborates with various Supply Chain Software & Hardware Companies for enterprise – wide implementation in both supply chain planning &execution.
He also holds international collaborations with CSCMP- Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals-USA, Supply Chain Council-USA, represents IPMA, International Project Management Associates (World’s oldest project management association).
