Of course they have just launched the trailer and a couple of songs, but we can’t help gushing over Ileana D’Cruz’s retro avatar in the upcoming Rustom already. Dressed as a pretty Parsi belle in ’50s India, Ileana is sporting some of the most beautiful – and authentic – ensembles we have seen on the silver screen in recent times. And while at it, she’s giving us a glimpse of Parsi fashion in India – beyond stereotypes – during that period. Costume designer Ameira Punvani sure seems to have done a great job.

The sunny portrait collared, buttoned-up bow dress is a perfect vintage number, especially for a romantic song.Large checks were big in that era, and Ileana shows off a simple yet beautiful number that’s set off with a broad belt that tapers on the sides.Parsis have always been renowned for their sartorial aesthetics, and Rustom showcases this commendably.
