BHIKA BEHRAM WELL TO GET DRINKING WATER PODIUM & ROAD/PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION
THANKS TO DINIAR MEHTA – PRESIDENT OF MINORITY (PARSI) CELL AND MUNICIPAL CORPORATOR – MAKRAND NARWEKAR
President of Minority (Parsi) Cell and Vice- President of the Bharatiya Janta Party (Colaba Vidhan Sabha), – Social Worker, Diniar Darab Mehta – who is known for his dedication to Community Service, recently received a special request from the Trustees of Bhika Behram Well for the following works:
- For the Repairing/Reconstructing of the road adjacent to our Well to avoid internal flooding during the monsoons, as the pathway is in a very dilapidated condition;
And
2. To construct a Drinking Water Podium for providing fresh drinking water for thirsty travellers. Diniar Mehta put to use his good offices, and wrote to the Municipal Corporator – Shri Makrand Narwekar – to get this work started. The Community will be delighted to know that the construction work for both projects started on June 21, 2022 ( Bahman Mahino, Avan Roj), with an auspicious Muhurat Ceremony (breaking the coconut) which took place at our Bhika Behram Well at around 12.00 noon, at the hands of Municipal Shri Makrand Narwekar in the presence of BMC Officials. On this occasion Shri Makrand Narwekar – Municipal Corporator “A” Ward, Mr. Diniar Darab Mehta – President of Minority (Parsi) Cell, Mr. Dinshaw R. Mehta – Former President of Bombay Parsi Punchayet, Mr. Hoshi Jal – Present Trustee of Bombay Parsi Panchayet, Mr. Homiar N. Vakil – Solicitor & Trustee of Bhika Behram Well and Mr. Shahrukh Davar – Trustee of Bhika Behram Well, remained present along with Community Members.
The project is slated to take 2-3 weeks for completion. The beautification and clearing of the adjacent pavements will provide greater convenience and safety for pedestrians, especially Parsi Community members who regularly visit the Holy Bhika Behram Well.
