Delnaaz Irani: The pandemic taught me that if you are alive and healthy, you can do wonders
It’s now two years to the lockdown and lately many people have been realising that there are many things that the lockdown taught us. For Delnaaz Irani, mental health is priority and she makes sure that she steers clear of negativity.
“Health is not limited to only physical well-being; it is mental and emotional as well. Also, health is something that one has to be aware of from within. It needs to be created by being more conscious of our surroundings, our lifestyle, how we are putting ourselves out there, how much can we take mentally and physically,” she says.
The pandemic taught us a lot, she says, adding, “The saying ‘Health is wealth’ is so true. In the pandemic, we realised that if you are healthy and covid-free, everything will be perfect, jaan hai toh jahaan hai, as they say. If you are alive and if you are healthy, you can do wonders.”
Delnaaz says she does a lot things keeping her wellness in mind.“I have made a conscious effort to be healthy. If I can’t go to the gym, I make my eating habits better. I am on an intermittent diet, and I take care of my food intake. I do a little bit of walking and sleep for me is so important. I don’t work so hard that I don’t get my eight hours of sleep. I take my regular offs and head out of Mumbai so that I cut off from city life. This refreshes me and I come back with more zest, zing and vibrancy to do my work,” she says.
She adds, “Two things that I have changed in my lifestyle are eating right and avoiding junk food and drinking loads of water. I make sure to walk a little bit, even on the set. I really like yoga and I do it whenever I get time. Cutting off negativity from my life is important. Even on social media, I cut off the toxic people.”
