1st position and the fastest timing in the all India FMSCI – The Valley Run
2021 was a great start for Rustom Patel, veteran Dirt Bike Racing Champ. On 14th February 2021 the 8th edition of the all India famous Valley Run on the air strip of Aamby Valley was held. This event was organized by the governing racing body of India, that’s FMSCI. A total record entries of 320 bikes participated in various categories from all over India.
This was the first time 42 year old Rustom Patel had taken part in the Drag Racing super bikes M8 category (super bikes from 650cc to 850cc). He was riding a Ducati 848 given and tuned by his Team Break Out Moto.
Rustom finished in 1st place overall in his M8 category with a record breaking time and the only one finishing the 400 meters finish line in 11 seconds. The rest of the competition finished in 12 seconds plus. This one second margin is a huge lead win in drag racing.
Rustom was the only Parsi participating in this event. Rustom has always been an inspiration to our youth and he is a very proud Parsi.
Rustom Patel had last raced and became champion in the year 2007 in Bangalore and it was 14 years after retirement from professional racing that Rustom raced again in 2021 and won 1st place in this prestigious event against riders half his age.
Now there is no stopping Rustom, who vows to work doubly hard on his fitness and training. He thanks his sponsors Castrol Power 1 for having faith in him.
