BPP ELECTIONS 2015 – AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO ALL – A Joh-Bawa Initiative

We, Joh-Bawa are a young group who has in less than two months reached out to over 6000 households digitally giving the community daily snippets of news. It is no secret that we are a youth body and operate solely to invigorate the youth of today.

The BPP elections are upon us and our inbox has been flooded with queries with people asking us for credentials, background and details of candidates contesting the elections. We are overwhelmed with the traction we have been receiving.
We initially thought of sending a list of questions to candidates and request them to give us honest answers which we would publish to the community under one platform. We then realized that the candidates have already been asked some relevant (and some irrelevant) questions by other portals and press and it would be unfair to burden these candidates with another questionnaire. Hence we dropped that idea. However emails seeking answers to queries on candidates didn’t stop and we wondered how to solve this issue.

And so it dawned upon us! Instead of requesting the candidates to spend hours drafting the picture perfect answer to our questions why not give every candidate an equal opportunity on a stage and ask them questions face to face. So we decided to take this task upon us and provide all candidates a common platform in the most central part of Mumbai – Dadar.

With the aid of few we have reserved the Palamkote Hall in Dadar on 2nd October, 3rd October and 11th October all of which are holidays for most and allocate time to candidates who wish to come and speak to the audience and also answer some hard-hitting questions.

We feel this is the best way for the community to know their candidates best, instead of the blowing your own trumpet kind of lecturing we have become accustomed to. If the two groups require a longer duration we can most certainly try and accommodate that as well.

All candidates can continue to feel free to post on our portal your profile along with your meeting schedule which we will circulate to all, unaltered.
